First and foremost everyone, HAPPY NEW YEAR! To celebrate, I'm writing an extremely boring article! Hope you enjoy it.
Ok so right now in Japan you win is either TGAA or Inzectors. And many have gone around calling Inzectors imba, OP, cheap which they are minus Pot, and then they'll be cheap after GS2012, but how is it that TGAA can still win?
Quite simply, it's because TGAA can keep up with those +1s with the TG engine. Furthurmore, both decks suffer from consistency issues, however TGAA has much stronger deck thining capabilities. Should both decks start with a shitty hand, TGAA has a higher chance of coming back, unless is BOLA hand.
Last but not least, which I feel is why TGAA is still WAAAAY better than Inzector, is cos they can OTK WAAAAY easier than Inzector can. Pheonix is like a Dark Dive Bomber for them, and Inzectors only viable OTK 8000 board requires them to shoot their own Mantis or Weevil which are run in 1s or at most 2s. TGAA are playing 3 bloody Hyperions! Hence TGAA can end games by Turn 3 even with 2 balls in hand if everything else is God and Inzector tend to have to rely on those +1 to carry them to victory, is like why AM is a better carry than FV. Although FV is the strongest late game hero.
Also, I was trying to find out how much the Magi Magi Girl thingy was worth, and look what I found.

LIGHT / Fairy / 4
1800/1500
ONCE PER TURN, you can select 1 DRAGON monster in your opponent's Grave and SP it. Your opponent cannot select another Fairy as attack target.
It was reprinted in SD20 and the world probably doesn't even know it exsist. Free REDMD anyone? Side against Dragons, which are seeing more and more play recently. Although I still think that it really isn't any good, despite losing to it :(

Lavalval Chain Tourney at LAS (31/12/11)
Deck used : Six Samurai
Number of Participants: 35
Round 1 - Hong Rui (HERO Beat)
XOX
Game 1 - He started with Dustshoot on my bullshit hand of 5 Traps + Enishi. Stalled awhile with a top drawn Mirror Force but when he lure my Bottomless with Breaker I already saw him Pot a Miracle 2 turns earlier so lose.
Game 2 - Got some early control with Snowman, then went for a Tori with DEST, and won from there.
Game 3 - Big mistake, he Pot and showed Solemn, Snowman and something else and he still took Snowman, I still went for Heavy Storm despite knowing he very likely had Starlight Road, should have made a Shi'en first and use a GM to protect it from Snowman and prolly would have won from there T.T. In the end used, Shi'en to ram into Stardust but lose after lost so much advantage.
Round 2 - Ernest (Twilight Dragon)
XOX
Game 1 - I had a winning hand. Lost because I negate Return from Dark Dimension when I could have Compulse it. Lost too much control from there.
Game 2 - He had bad hand and I open with D. Fissure, then Dustshoot leaving him to set Ryko and afterwards I Tori him.
Game 3 - Drew shit, Reborn his REDMD, lost it to a Dark Hole, accidently showed him a Dustshoot. And really couldn't do much.
Score: 0-2
Swiss Ranking: SCRUB!!!
Dylan Top 8 with his own Six Sam build making me feel like a noobie, cos I kinda taught him how to play Six Sams ><. Not as if I had shitty matchups jus played like shit, also I had made my build to counter meta decks and met none so is even more bullshitty. Tired of scrubbing with Sams, may rebuild Doppel to play in next week's locals. I can only top with Doppel it seems.
Anyway won the Magi Magi Girl as lucky draw so not so bad. Haha Sean I got the book with mine too :)

Decks of 2011
With 2011 almost over it's time to look at the decks that have impacted the meta since January.
10. Karakuri
Karakuri have been around for ages, is just that with Heavy Storm's release, it became a viable deck choice. Different varients of Karakuri exsist but their final goal is still to swarm with heavy 27/28 beaters and rape.
9. Rabbit Ragia
With the release of Rabbit and Ragia, a new type of control deck was born. The deck only real issue was drawing into those yellowskins, other than that, a first turn Rabbit could devastate most meta decks.
8. Agent Angel
With WWBF crippled, players wanted to try something new, and Agent Angel became their new playtoy. Capable of summoning an extremely early Trishula, as well as access to Vermillion Declarer, this deck topped quite abit for a short period, even taking this year's World Champ.
7. Dark World
Dark World became extremely popular since it's release after the success of Hyperion in SD21, Grapha was considered imba by some. The deck managed to gather more consistentcy during this period as players began to discover new techs such as Skill Drain, SIN Cyber and Trans Demon.
6. Debris Dandy / Junk Doppel
The predecessor to Junk Doppel, Debris Dandy grew from the late Quick Dandy due to the release of Librarian. The deck still had a hard time going around all that backrow in this format. The same problem after evolving into Junk Doppel, yet with Trunade the deal was usually sealed for both decks.
5. Inzector
Possibly the best deck this format, Inzector were cheap, easy to play. Consistency issues plauged the deck though, hence players resorted to techs such as Tomato and Knight of the End. Still, one of the most feared decks this format.
4. T.G Agent Angel
People realise that Striker plus Venus = Trishula and Hyperions to follow up were good and TGAA was born. Possibly the strongest deck this format, TGAA's consistency issues were solved by it's extreme deck thining capabilities.
3. Offering Gadget
With the realease of Rank 4 stuff like Emeral and Chain, the deck grew from stupid to imba, similar to Striker Venus, Offering Gadget also used a 2 card combo that is near impossible to stop, you can't Warning it! Veiler and backrow hate did the trick however, but expect Offering to take the hit next list.
2. WWBF
The best deck in the format in Pre March IMO, the deck really caused a meta shift after it's hit on the March list, losing alot of consistency. Still one of the best decks ever made, loyal followers will tech anything just to win with it again.
1. Six Samurai
Stupid deck with 3 Gatways led to a dumb format. FIRE/WATER loop led many who couldn't afford or simply didn't want to play the deck to condemn the deck. Even after the hit on Gateway in March, it still continued to top. One of the strongest decks ever made.

Tour Bus eff
I dunno if it's been confirmed or what but apparently this is it.
When this card is sent to the Graveyard: Target 1 monster in either player’s Graveyard, except “Tour Bus From the Underworld”; shuffle that target into the Deck.
If that's the case on the IMBA scale of 1 to 10, it's an 8 for me. You can Foolish it and Exchange of the Spirit one monster LOL.

Mini Tournament @ Clementi Report (23/12/11)
Deck used : Six Samurai
Number of participants: 20
Round 1 - Shaun Lim/ChickenNoodle (A.R.A) OXO
Game 1 - He drew shit and i drew Gateway, nuff said.
Game 2 - Turn 1 Declarer Decree, turn 2 Kristya, WHAT IS YUGIOH?
Game 3 - I first turn Beast him, with backrow of Warning and Mirror Force. Next turn destroyed his Gellenduo with Zanji and GM bystander, and Mirror his Jupiter before Warning his Hyperion.
Round 2 - Wesley (Junk Doppel) XX
Game 1 - Showed that Junk Dop > 65 with his Maxx "C" on two of my big plays with Kagemusha and DEST.
Game 2 - Opened strongly with Rivalry but that got Ryko-ed and life sucked after that. Managed to lure out all my backrow and still make a Catastor which I ram into with my GM for effect. Didn't pay off though and we left to top decking and he finally Lava Golem me when I left 2k and I had no way of getting rid of it....
Round 3 - Yew Loong (Offering Gadget) XX
Game 1 - Left him with two backrow when I knew one was D.P, he had no hand he drew a Gadget and activated an Offering, I stared at my in hand Mirror Force. FML
Game 2 - 2 backrow got Xing Zhen Hu-ed and really couldn't do shit after that. Two big misplays in two games....
Score : 1-2
Swiss Ranking: 11th
Yew Loong got the infamous 9th while Shaun got 10th which meant that had Yew Loong activated Dark Bribe both me and Shaun prolly up hahaha, joke with him that he killed all 3 of us. Anw, my bad for not offering to share cos logically I had higher chance to up but if me and I just won and my opponent told me "want share?" I would have LOL-ed.
Good day for my friends though with Sean and Luke both getting to Top 8, well played.
Anyway really have to reflect as I should not be taking shared wins and my misplays against Yew Loong were BULLSHIT! Imagine staring at that Mirror Force at Asia Plus, my life would have ended.
Decided to FINALLY, put in Torrential into Six Sams, dunno how long it'll stay there.
Maybe next time should just play Doppel, only ever topped with that.

Some cards to side against the new meta
With ORCS support for Inzector, Ninja and Mainspring, the current meta has shifted slightly from the typical TGAA style we've been seeing the past 2 months. With the shift in meta, side decks also have to follow suit. Here are some more side deck options to consider
Trap Hole
No joke, after seeing this on Shriek in a Six Sam's side, I wondered what the fellow was smoking. However, this card does wonderfully against Inzector Damsel as well as make HANZO lose its usual target for Super Transformation. This however, does not stop SPs or Gold Ninja and using it on Agents is just feeding Hyperion ammo, hence for decks that are able to side into D. Fissures, they can also consider siding Trap Holes against Agents and Dark World, dunwan to be feeding Gate ammo.
Wild Tornado
My personal tech against Dark World last time, this is useful against Inzectors as well. Of course, don't use it to burst the Hornet that's STUPID. Inzectors tend to aim for the backrow first so when they hit this use the 2nd effect to get rid of Damsel, thus stopping her effect. This will effectively give you a +1 as he probably wasted his Normal Summon on the Damsel. Also can be used against Dark World to get rid of that irritating Skill Drain, note that Gate of the Dark World cannot be destroyed via the first effect, as it is not in the S/T Zone. Thanks to Weemin for pointing that out.
Rivalry of Warlords
For decks like Six Sam and Dark World, this old tech card can stop Mainspring Inzector from going Zenmighty unless they have Brilli-ant LOL. Also if they attempted build up with Knight of the End, using this will effectively stop them from doing ANYTHING if you can protect it. Also, if I'm not wrong when it is active it will also stop Ninjas from activating Art of Super Transformation cos you are attempting to summon a non-Warrior upon activation? Can someone correct me if I'm wrong?
Of course there are the usual Decrees and Macro and Chain D, but don't you ever get bored of using those?

GAOV card
Roaring Express Train Rocket Arrow 「爆走特急ロケット・アロー」
EARTH/Machine - Effect/10/5000/0
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except when you control no cards on your field. During the turn this card is Special Summoned, you cannot perform your Battle Phase. While this card is face-up on your field, you cannot activate the effects of Magic, Trap and Effect Monster Cards, nor set cards. The controller of this card sends his entire hand to the Graveyard during their Standby Phase, or this card is destroyed.
Seems quite useless, but what if used as a Side against DW? Some decks have totally no outs to Skill Drain except backrow removal. No sure if will work yet. Could be condition(s) and not effect(s). Just some food for thought.

Full Yen Ranking Tourney Report (17/12/11)
Decided to clean up the blog today, no point delaying it anyway.
As for the whole 10/12/11 fiasco, as well as comments that I did not do my duty as a judge, I admit that I blew my top that day and that was unprofessional and led all that bad jazz on the morning of 11/12/11 which led me to piss alot of people off and so I'm here to apologise for all that.
Anyway, I hope that we can put the past behind us and just get on with the YGO.
On with the report:
Number of participants: 25
Deck used: Junk Doppel
Everytime I plan to bring Sams someone will tempt with with Doppel, wanna borrow my Doppel deck? -.-
Round 1 - vs Sean from my team (Machina Gadget) OXO
Game 1 - Farmed and won with the big push
Game 2 - First turn kena Banisher, I kum bird bird
Game 3 - Actually had a shitty first hand that then Mind Crush him saw DP, 2 Compulse and SOLEMN WTF. He only set one Compulse which I MST and then next turn I Librarian Formula but advantage was essentially a 0 plus I drew a Spore __. He mistake set all his backrow so I EP Black Rose, and won from there.
Round 2 - vs Dennis (Chain Burn) XOX
Game 1 - Actually had control, just not enough life.
Game 2 - I he did all his Chaining stuff so I blind Crush-ed so that Secret Barrel will burn less and hit 2 FADERS YEAAAAA, then he GL judge when judge tell him when a Chain Link resolve the card will go grave straight. If I were the judge straight away warning.
Game 3 - Already in time, so I went to push for the final damage on my last BP he drop a Swift Scarecrow after having already burned me 1200.
That guy ended up winning but TBH he pissed alot of people off and questioning the judge with a "Where did you get that from?" was totally WTF, those watching the final were all rather ... and cos he literally continues to think for hours on the end even when his fate is sealed. His final manuveour to win took TEN BLOODY MINUTES and some people were already throwing sarcasm at him already after seeing his hand almost everyone knew he win already. Not me, but I could tell where everyone's anger came from.
LAN with Pohseng, Yingjun, Sebas, Cavin, Junyi and their friend and we still talking about that guy, cos since he delayed our LAN Pohseng and Yingjun could only join us for an hour. Good to touch DotA after such a long hiatus.
Maybe going down to Clementi tmr but unlikely to make it on time to join as I have personal matters hopefully can play a few games and good luck to all playing tmr.

Gold Series 2012
Everyone's talking about.
Zenmaines reprint here? Considering it's been out in TCG for like a month? Looks that way, it has a Japanese name and translated name that makes sense.
This is the biggest FUCK YOU from Konami to the TCG since they reprinted Starlight Road in Yusei Pack.
And we thought they would just do the predictable with the BLS and the Pot.
Judging from the list that's out already,
it appears one of the two is gonna be common, cos Zenmaines is pretty much fixed to be NR. My guess is Pot.
As usual, they release all the good jazz now and you wait on day of release crap like Junk Gardna get reprinted here instead of Boo Koo.
Please Konami, reprint the almighty Boo Koo!!

Clementi Tourney Report (11/12/11)
After another bout of flame wars and bad jazz, I was pretty much obliged to join today's tourney if not sure kena label as humjikia :(
Big thanks to Johann for buying my Illumiknight if not I no cash pay entry fee :)
On to the report:
Deck used: Junk Doppel built in 10 minutes
Number of participants: 22
Round 1 - vs Yew Long (HERO Beat) XOO
Game 1 - He open with Raiou and two backrow, I ate alot of damage early on due to that Raiou and was left with 1300. He made a Roach which I Mind Control-ed so I only had the Raiou negate to worry about. Can't remember how but I managed to lure out the Raiou negate and jump my DAD. He next turn just Dark Hole, Miracle GG.
Game 2 - I milled my Heavy Storm early on and he next turn immediately set 4 backrow. Failed to do initial damage but forced the Judgement with my Pot of Avarice. He forgot about the Veiler he saw with Dustshoot and E-Called an Airman which I Veilered and failed to draw into monsters as I slowly caught up in field presence.
Game 3 - I threw a Debris and CotH to Trishula him, getting rid of 1 HERO in grave and on field. The epic part was when I hit the Dark Hole in hand. He lost and revealed a hand of tri-Miracles.
Round 2 - vs Ying Jun (T.G Agent Angel) OXO
Game 1 - I was clearly ahead in card advantage when he Pot a BLS. Luckily next turn I top drew BTH, and he had no answer for it.
Game 2 - He was clearly ahead in card advantage as he played rather agressively after Dustshooting me. I tried defending with a Spore but it was futile.
Game 3 - I can't exactly remember what happened but, he end board had a Shine Ball and I Black Rose then no blow turn him to attack and apparently he had nothing.
I drew Maxx "C" on all his Venus :) but he forever stop at first ball ZZZ.
Round 3 - vs Xiao Mei (Rabbit Ragia) OXO
Game 1 - Her first Guaiba tio Ryko then she come out the second one, next turn I Junk pull Mind Control Trishula and controlled for a few turns then she have Dark Hole AND Heavy Storm and I left to top decking but heng heng top deck a Sorceror.
Game 2 - She just took early control amd when I defending late game she had a Dolkka, which negated my Tomato twice :( Lost soon after cos a Ragia appeared after that.
Game 3 - It hit a point where the Raiou on the field and I had 3 DARK and LIGHT targets. Chaos Sorceror and DAD in hand. I jump Sorceror try forced negate but she didn't fall for it and Veiler me. No choice but to Card Trooper suicide ram and it milled another DARK for me so I just jump for fear she kill my Sorceror next turn, her Rabbit attempt tio BTH and she scrub.
Round 4 - vs Johann (T.G Agent Angel)
XOX
We play w/o side cos both of us 3 wins so confirm up just decide who will kena the FULL WIN CURSE
Game 1 - Can't remember
Game 2 - Cheating hand on first turn allows me to Librarian Formula, I generated way too much advantage and he couldn't keep up.
Game 3 - This one quite funny the last part, he had 3 Angel in grave, Gachi with 2 Ball and Venus on field. I decided not to hit which was DAMN DUMB, cos next turn he just double sack for........ you guessed it.... KRISTYA (BITCH ANGEL)!!
Score : 3-1
Swiss placing: 3rd
Proceed to Top 8
Top 8 - vs Sam (Mainspring Inzecter) XOX
Game 1 - Didn't know what deck he playing so first turn Set Ryko, it kena Damsel Hornet, lost too much advantage from there summore he come out 1 Zenmighty and the following turn another 2. He gamed me when he hit my Card Trooper with an Acid Golem, totally forgot about that possibility.
Game 2 - He left Centibeet and 1 hand card after he PWWB me and drop Rat I suspect he did not have much left, went in with Card Trooper and he Veiler so I could not gain attack, but I milled the Tomato and went into Scrap and he left to top-decking but scrub soon after his Allure missed.
Game 3 - I got DDV-ed 4 hand card gone and he knew my entire hand so can tell me with confidence that I couldn't win after he showed me a Warning.
Result: Top 8 (shared)
Prize: XX-Saber Darksoul cos no one wanted it and Roger and Cavin wanted to go.
After hearing all the tales of how Sam would tell you that you lost, having it done to myself felt.... Rather cool actually. I was not at all offended or anything. Really, it was an honour.
As for the flame wars, it appears I'm gonna get kicked out of Singapore Yugioh Association, but that's fine. I'm gonna leave myself. This is the way I roll, and I'm bound to have haters and all that bad jazz. Sorry for not being you average Singaporean duelist, just cos I'm different doesn't make me an attention seeker.

Visiting Six Samurai
I couldn't sleep and decided to do this post on my thoughts of the Six Sams and how they should be played, I hope that I can get different perspectives so as to furthur improve my deck without netdecking.
As we all know, Six Sams were introduced in Strike of Neos blah blah blah.... And then got Gateway in Extra Pack 3 ZOMGWTF so OP. Then got the LSS in STOR.
From then on, LSS consistently topped and continued to top until..... Sept'11 banlist hit their consistency quite badly. The deck is still a favourite and from the decklist distribution in the Japan tournaments, it ranks about a close 3rd or 4th with Dark World behind TGAA and Inzector. Clearly the deck has lost some of it's powerfulness with the loss of Shien's Smoke Signal, which led to players having to sub in Asecetism to ensure their first turn Shi'en plays.
Here are some common things seen in the decklist nowadays that were rather different last format.
3 Kageki to 2
Now most people run 2 Kageki cos honestly, it's a lousy top draw in most scenarios and requires an activation of an effect, which tends to fall prey to the plethora of Effect Veilers being run everywhere now. Furthurmore, having 2 in your hand sucks, but the consistency must remain present to have this outlet to first turn Shi'en, hence the drop to 2 instead of 1.
2 MST to Side
Simple reason, no space. Strong card this format as one MST could change the game and also against Dark World where you have to blast everything, Heavy Storm isn't enough. However, against the typical meta of TGAA and Inzector, not very big deal due to their lower trap counts.
Drop Yaichi
Yaichi was extremely powerful previous format but has lost almost all it's use. Furthurmore, it is not a viable Ascestism target at all and has been replaced by the more usable Zanji and Enishi.
FIRE girls
For some reason they are being dropped and they are not being sided. I think Hand is still extremely important, though the Mizuho for Ascestism can be dropped.
Do we still main Compulse?
In my March'11 build, I teched in one CED, which proved quite useful, however I teched it out this format and haven't looked backed till recently, as it appears to be in every Six Sam decklist in Japan, either ran in 1s or 2s.
D. Prison still good?
Considering that if the Dark World player has a fairly decent hand AND goes first, it becomes very difficuly for the Six Sam player to match the Grapha, hence the use of D. Prisons. The problem remains that this will affect the consistency of the deck.
Magatama or SLR?
Japan decklist now mostly main 3 Maga, whereas I main 2 and 1 SLR. I find SLR similar to Maga in many ways and much more practical. Still Maga negates Hyperion, a big deal in the Agent matchup.
Drop 1 Warning?
Recently I have been considering dropping 1 Warning as it just hasn't been that good this format. Both TGAA and Inzector are not TOO afraid of Warning as their food come from the grave anw.
Dark Hole?
I have never liked Dark Hole much, but I do main it because of the potential plus and the ability to go for that final push. I know people in Japan have all dropped the Dark Hole, and considering it's a card I heartily dislike I should be doing it to.
Heavy Storm?!
I want to keep Heavy because I need that assurance but I have top drawn it when all I needed was a mob to win and that's when it becomes total bullshit.
The usage of Shi'en
I know that alot of people have said things like us Sams players must now use our Shi'en more wisely, but I believe one should always first turn Shi'en or Naturia Beast as it drastically limits the plays opponents can go into. Furthurmore, I believe the truth sign of a good Six Sam player is his usage of the Shi'en negate, how he must not be easily baited out by some Monster Reborn or CotH. As far as possible, I feel the Shi'en should never negate anything if able cos you never know.
Please leave your thoughts on whether I should keep maining Heavy and Dark Hole, and also some tech ideas of yours I could try.
I will not tech in an Irou + BLS though.

Tour Bus From the Underworld?......
W....TF?
Apparently TGU isn't strong enough for Konami. Luckily TCG exclusive, won't be seeing too many of it around.
Maybe it lets you RotA a TGU, won't put it beneath them to do shit like that.
Don't tell me that's imba, I already know.

Why BF must be brought back to its former glory
Remember the time when Book of Moon and Kulat were at 3? BF was an extremely popular deck as it was both strong and economical.
Now, we rarely see any other BF players other than Vishal, mainly cos the deck lost too much in the March list, and even though the final Icarus was given back in Sept, the deck lost Oppression.
When I say former glory I don't mean tri-Whirlwind into Bomber, more of the Sept 2010 format. Why must BF be brought back to such a state? It is no secret that Konami hates on the birds ALOT, they have never missed a banlist, if you do consider Oppression to be a key card in BF, from Gale to Whirlwind to Whirlwind and then the biggest hit of all, BF is so hated by Konami because they keep owning every single new product they produce.
Just take a look at Sept 2010, Six Sams were messed up! Yet which deck most consistently defeated them? WWBF.
So for those who know me, they heard me say this many times before. Konami needs BF, because every single time they screw up with their product, BF is there to own it.
BF can't own Inzectzors in this state as consistently, give them back it's Book of Moons, don't even need Kulat, and BF will be able to clear this mess that Konami left us.

Why Vanguard shouldn't have a time limit, or at least have better rules when time is called.
Thought I've been quite quiet recently which is very unlike me, so decided to talk about something that kinda bothers me, because I like rulings and all that judge shenanigans and I think this is a problem.
I hear from my Vanguard playing friends who attended AFA, that some pro Vanguard player was eliminated cos his opponent dragged game to time, and overguarded like a total scrub.
For those of you unfamiliar with Vanguard, basically if you take 6 damage you lose. Similar to Yugioh, it is perfectly normal to throw the first few damage for free, just as it is to sometimes eat some big push then counter attack, the same concept remains, as long as your life isn't 0, or in Vanguard's case, damage isn't 6, you still have a chance to win.
When Yugioh is brought to time, the current Turn Player will be sitting on Turn 0, and the game ends when Turn 3 is over. Essentially this means both players are given 2 BPs to do anything. Which usually is rush like dogs and defend like Chinese DotA players. The one with the higher LP at the end of Turn 3 wins.
Not trying to slam the organisers, as I heard they did quite a good job considering it was the first major Vanguard event in Singapore, but I feel such a rule is unfair in Vanguard. Yes in Yugioh, we have people who drag game to time too *ahem Wesley*, but almost every meta deck now has some sort of 8000 board all in that can appear, which is what the players tend to turn to during Sudden Death.
However, in Vanguard, this is not the case, even if your entire board's attacks hit, it is unlikely to be able to deal 6 damage in a single turn, as such, 1 point of damage is much more valuable than even 1000 LP in Yugioh terms. Furthurmore, certain decks rely heavily on Counterblast abilities, which require them to take damage. This puts the player in between a rock and a hard place. If he takes the damage, he may lose, if he doesn't take the damage, he may not be able to win.
More importantly, in Yugioh, where during time we just try to push as much damage as possible, basically overexerting like a newb, it is not necessarily bad playing, it could be a form of mindfucking, making your backrow seem extremely protective to your opponent. However, in Vanguard, overguarding is a sign of scrubbiness and lack of foresight. To add on, unlike Yugioh, where some attacks deal less damage, in Vanguard, 1 point of damage from a 5000 Draw Trigger is as good as 1 point of damage from a Counterblasted Dragonic Overlord.
The problem still remains, though, that in a best of three tournament setting, where the stakes are so high, players should not be given an hour and a half to play out their matches, a time limit must be imposed. Still, this would lead to tremendous overguarding in the final game if both players knew that time was going to get called. They may even Mulligan to get a full Trigger hand of 10K guards, which is even noober than noob.
During the Saturday Econ tournaments, usually we just let the players play it out, best of three, everyone there has time anyway and the prizes are not to kill for. At Ah Soo, it seems they adopt a best of one format, which although may not be the greatest, ensures that the games end on time.
From the above two scenarios, we can see two imperfect solutions to the problem at hand. Let the players play it out, or adopt best of one. While both are full of cons, they ensure the game of Vanguard, in all its greatness, is played the way it's supposed to be played. With skill, epic lucksack, and basic arithmetic.
NOTE: I just got that info from heresay, if it isn't true, well this wall of text talks about why you shouldn't make time limits in Vanguard in any case.

Why Kristya is a BITCH.
After all that crap I think I should start being an autistic geek and start flaming cards, so why not start with the most HATRED-ED card of all!
Why is Daitenshi Kristya a BITCH?
Scenario 1 - Agent player opens with Vahalla Kristya.
SCRUB
Scenario 2 - Agent player summon Earth search Venus, next turn you get rid of Earth. He show you Striker, Venus, Kristya.
SCRUB
Scenario 3 - Big monster deck show you Trade-in, Kristya, Monster Reborn.
WTF SCRUB
Scenario 4 - Striker jump Werewolf OK, double sack Kristya
SERIOUSLY MAN WHAT IS YUGIOH.
Scenario 5 - Declarer Kristya Royal Decree
ZOMGWTF I THINK I SHOULD QUIT
Next question I have, why is Oppression banned and Kristya not?
Rationale for banning Kristya and not banning Oppression
1. Your opponent can use it.
2. It does not have 2800 ATK.
3. It doesn't take back the Honest for you.
4. It is a Trap card, which has to be set first.
5. It can easily be gotten rid of.
6. It doesn't go back top deck when it dies.
7. It has a cost.
8. It is GENERIC, hence BALANCED.
9. Cannot stop Gorz, Trago, Fader.
10. MUCH nicer artwork.
I would say more, but Kristya might sue till I piss or whatever the hell that guy said.
Bottomline: Kristya is a BITCH ANGEL.

Chain Disappearance vs Weight Over
As we all know one of the new cards in ORCS has caught the attention of quite few. It is none other than Weight Over A.K.A Shine Ball murderer. Compared to the commonly used Chain D. , Weight Over has several pros to it, as well as several cons.
Pros of Chain D. :
Potentially hits the hand, thus reducing opponent's hand advantage.
Can be used upon your own summon
Nicer artwork LOL.
Gets rid of Level 3 or higher engines.
Pros of Weight Over :
Can be used upon Venus second Ball.
Can get rid of Tuners such as Earth and Glow-up Bulb.
Cons of Chain D. :
Loss of target with cards such as Book of Moon.
Must be used upon Venus first Ball for full advantage.
Cannot get rid of the first turn Earth.
Not worth it to get rid of generic tuners such as Glow-up Bulb and Spore, as people usually only play 1.
Cons of Weight Over :
Stricter activation conditions.
Hits own field as well.
Cannot hit the hand.
Cannot hit irritating shit like Lonefire, Dandy, Rabbit etc.
Weight Over or Chain D, you decide.
Personally, I feel that Weight Over is the more generic choice, whereas Chain D is better for some decks, E.G Agent decks or T.G varients. As you can Chain D. your own summon, you could potentially get rid of all your opponent's Earth or Striker with 2 turns, players tend to be more cautious in Games 2 and 3. So if you Chain D. your own summon, your opponent will be in total WTF mode.
Just some food for though, personally I will be choosing Weight Over for my Sams, as the risk of running into a mirror or fairly slim with the current meta shifting towards Hyperion and Striker and HR of the Six parties. Could always Chain D. HR but WTH?

CardMaster Ranking Tourney Report (20/11/11)
Deck used: Six Samurai
Number of participants: 12
Round 1 vs Ash (D.D Monarch) OXO
Game 1 - Threw out Kageki tri-Kizan against his lone Survivor, he did not have Macro, and although he BTH one, he had no answer to the other 2 2100ATK Kizans.
Game 2 - He started with 4 backrow, and then I cleared 2 before Heavy Storm then he Road me. T.T Trish for advantage but he managed to get rid of it with the Macro quick-play Dark Hole along with my Snowman Eater. Lost all my advantage from there and he Caius out himself when I left 500.
Game 3 - Managed to get an early Shi'en out, hit until he left 500 then he set monster I pussy out suspect D.D Warrior Lady. He defended with his 2 face down monsters until I drew into Mizuho when I already had Ascetism in hand.
Round 2 vs Wesley (Gallis Troll Deck) XOO
Game 1 - I started with 2 United and 2 Ascestism but NO MONSTERS and drew into NO MONSTERS and he kept using Spy to hit me till I die-ed.
Game 2 - Gateway United opening, with monsters and sufficient protection, what more could I ask for? He did Lava Golem my Shi'en and Zanji, but he only had Faders to defend with and lost after using 2.
Game 3 - I open with Honourable Retiree, Mizuho and GM, tribute HR to bomb his Ryko, then hit. He Gallis I Debunk, he Dimensional Alchemist (I think his favourite card) suicide on GM to take back, then he got a Revise on the field and end turn. I normal Kagemusha, he drop Maxx "C" then I tribute to bomb Revise. I hit and he left 300, Double-Edged and he draw Trag LOL.
Top 4 vs Shaunewbiez (Dark World) OXO
Game 1 - I opened with Kageki Kizan United, set a Magatama and DEST and end turn. He set 3 end, I next turn Kizan GM United, he Torrential I Magatama, then United draw 2 draw into Heavy Storm, skillful game.
Game 2 - I only remember he Dragged my Heavy Storm and he Mind Crush me I forgot to Imp, I even showed him the Imp >< I drew 2 United but not a single Kageki or Kizan even or GM though I had Kagemusha, and Hand and later drew into a Mizuho. Finally after his Snoww hit until songsong I left 100 then I top draw Mirror Force, he Solemn it I Solemn back, so I was playing with 50 for the last 3-4 turns till he finally drew a monster LOL.
Game 3 - I opened with Shi'en and GM, he set alot I just keep hitting with those 2 the finally he Dark Hole I negate he Dragged I though "Oh Shit" and show me a Gate and I thought "Oh heng ar..." but he still no monster so he end I hit he Mirror Force I negate he scooped.
Final vs Poh Seng (GKs) OO
Game 1 - He Pot take Tribute I look at my hand 4 monsters and thought "OH F***" kena Tribute left 1 Heavy Storm. Next turn draw HR I just Storm and end. He Set and Flip his Commandant I was like "Heng ar not Spy" and eat the damage he set 1 backrow end. I then drew DEST set and end, he Set a mob and atk and end. I drew Ascestism and did it and he Flush before I Shi'en and I DEST into Shi'en when he no hand card, and just win from there. I admit, total lucksack.
Game 2 - Open with Storm Mizuho hit set 3 end turn, he Valley pass Recruiter tio BTH, Sin Cyber tio Warning, drew into no monsters and just ate Mizuho 5 times.
Result : 1st
Phew, after that fiasco at Top Shop yesterday, I think I found a Six Sam build that suits me more, after all, drawing the Yaichi in Game 1 against Junk Doppel is really _|_ so now the whole world knows I don't main Yaichi. LOL. Finally win Wesley ^^ but he using troll deck >< zzz. Was also suprised at the lack of Agent players, I guess people finally realised that Kristya(BITCH ANGEL) is a BITCH ANGEL.
Anw sucessfully defended my position in Division A from the point sucking monster that is Pohseng LOL jkjk. I wish my friends Wesley and Pohseng all the best for their tourney at Yew Tee next Saturday, Wee Min can scrub for all I care hahaha, also good luck to my teamates as well, I will likely be judging the event, after the win today, I SHOULD have enough points to keep me afloat in Division A.

Top Shop Tourney "Report" (19/11/11)
This is not so much a report but more of a reflective article.
In my first 2 swiss rounds, versus Bixuan and Sebas, I made 2 very crucial errors in Game 3 which not only cost me the victory, but made me feel like a second grade player. I was extremely dissapointed with myself as I let not only myself down but Uncle who had decided to choose me and not just anyone else.
Against Bixuan, I had a Shi'en and a Magatama, he on MST with 2 hand cards and another set card, I assumed with the way he was shuffling his hand that he had a Declarer, as I wanted him to waste it (greedy me) I negated, and he Pheonix Wing Wind Blast me. I was left to top decking, and so I lost.
Had I just Magatama-ed he would have to wait a full turn before he could get anything done, by which point I would have won.
Against the dog, I had Mizuho, Shi'en and Kizan, with 3 backrow. When he jumped his BLS, I decided not to Solemn as I had Mirror Force, the end result he out my Sams one by one. I assumed that he would be playing his normal style of hitting everything he could like an idiot, but it appeared that he had a brain too.
That said I still may not have made it to Top 8, if I had won Bixuan I would be against Jeryl I think, and Dark World is a fairly good matchup for Six Sams, however I would have to face another TGAA in the 3rd round, which although is not a bad matchup for Sams, it's a bad matchup for me cos of my fear of Kristya(BITCH ANGEL).
I know I went around saying that I brought the wrong deck and should have brought my Doppel, other than the fact that I returned everyone everthing, I feel extremely uneasy playing Doppel without Librarian. Still, it was the deck I was using the past month, while I lent my Sams to Cavin for the same period, so I should be more fresh with a Doppel deck.
I think bringing the wrong deck is a lousy excuse now, Colin from Asia Cards Shop also brought Six Sams to Top Shop and made it to Top 8, when I asked to see his decklist, I realised it was EXTREMELY similar to the one I brought, with only a couple of tech choices different. This proves to show that I did not bring the wrong deck, I simply did not play well enough.
With that, I think it's time for me to regain my touch with my Sams. With the ability to use Balkion and Roach now, I should have no excuse if I am unable to live up to my own expectations.

Congrats to Bixuan!!
Congrats to Bixuan, my 1st round opponent, for taking the Top Shop of Asia berth, representing Singapore in Taiwan in December.
Also, congrats to Jeff for coming in 2nd this event.
I may or may not do a report on this tourney, can't help but feel it was a total waste of time, but I suppose it just means that my Sams require alot more thought.
I should have been 2-2!!!! ><

ORCS pulls
ORCS came to Yew Tee today early in the afternoon, so following my tradition whenever a new set arrives, I whacked 3 packs and pull almost nothing good.
Then after some other people bought some packs, I got from then:
2x Inzectzor Hornet
2x Mainspring Rat
1x Ninjutsu Art of Super Transformation
1x Weight Over
1x Royal Prison
1x Ninja Grandmaster - HANZO
I carried on to whack 3 more packs to get one more Weight Over, and somemore crap, and ended the day with no foil pulls, as usual Dylan gets all the luck and pulled one on his second pack.
I knew that HANZO was a sought after card, but I didn't think that I would get a quote as high as $20 for it so I sold Jacky later that evening at that price. Dylan also finally gave up trying to sell his Rabbit online and gave in to Jacky's offer of OOPS CANNOT SAY.
Went on to whack another 3 booster (why always whack in 3s?) at Comics after Sebas and Roger left 1 Super in it, which could have been HANZO, Zenmighty or the Inzectzor bullcrap. Got a Royal Prison and ZENMIGHTY!!!
For those who do not know the combo here it goes:
1. Set-up: Mainspring Hunter in grave.
2. Normal summon Rat
3. SP Hunter
4. Overlay for Zenmighty
5. Detach Hunter to call Rat
6. Use Rat to call Hunter
7. Hunter eff tribute Zenmighty
8. Repeat steps 4-7
Alternatively you can be a bigger bastard:
1. Set-up: Hunter in grave, Inzectzor Hornet in hand or grave.
2. Summon Damsel, equip Hornet
3. Hornet blow and Damsel eff, SP Centibeet
4. Hornet blow again then Overlay for Zenmighty and be a bastard.
It could be childish thinking but personally I believe Zenmighty can end up being the next Dark Dive Bomber = March BANNED.
Other ways to abuse Zenmighty
1. Using Bitch on a Bus, A.K.A Tour Guide
2. Kulat SP Gale lol kidding
3. Double-Edged Kageki and Mizuho LOL HAHAHA
4. Summon Laquari and SP 2...... Wait for it.... TEST TIGERS!!!
I'd like to see you at Ah Soo this Saturday if you've got the balls to face the entire Yu-Gi-Oh community of Singapore that do not need Chain, Roach or Revise Holo. After all, I didn't make me hate you, if you catch my drift.
On a lighter note with no hidden messages, I got the 2 cards that I wanted in just the right quantities! Weight Over and Royal Prison I have 2 of each which is just right for my Side Deck. YIPEEE!!
Tmr Roger younger bro prize presentation, congrats to Louis for getting 2nd in class! For your present I let you call Zexuan kor kor Zexuan Whynopenis 1 time LOL.

JUZ THEN, my ryko mil a dandylion and i spwned 2 tokens to defend my ass. HAHAHAHA. next turn i did MASS STUNT which end product is an AOJ, ANDROID, D.A.D, CHAOS SOCEROR, and SCRAP DRAGON. liddat den he scrub lor XD

Asia Plus 2011 Team Tournament Main Event Tournament Report (13/11/11)
Team name: LSD
Team Leader: Samuel (Machina Gadget)
Member A: Zexuan (Junk Doppel)
Member B: Dylan (WWBF)
Round 1 - VS Team Challenge Accepted! (I think)
Opponent : Jeff (Machina Gadget)
OXO
Game 1 - Opened with fairly nice tools for farming and went for the Trish using Formula Soc and Token, Trish got Creature Swap-ed but next turn retaliate with A.O.J and Scrap to go for kill.
Game 2 - Farmed abit with Ryko, but as usual mill almost shit lucky mill 1 DARK, so I next turn C.Soc he Compulse I chain DDV, ate ONE Gadget and he show me nice hand for rushing, next turn kena rush, defended with Dandy but the f*kin Kycoo so dog, my BLS stuck in hand cannot come out, next turn Lightning Vortex but still cannot do anything due to lack of Graveyard and BLS in hand. Lost becos kept drawing crap like Veiler which I didn't need then.
Game 3 - Abit of back and forth, then when I combo start, Junk + Formula, he ok pass, then I decided to go for Black Rose as he had 3 backrow and he Solemn me, meaning no Road. Actually he had made a mistake and in the end Compulse the C.Soc when it came out when it should have been the Junk, could have saved half his LP. I Fortress him and tio smash then the dumbest thing his field got one Kycoo one Gadget, Kycoo attack I go CotH CYBER! And tio Fortress-ed, top decked D.P and said F*k off to Kycoo before coming out 2 big boss mobs which I only remember one of them is Scrap Dragon.
Team Result : XOX
Round 2 - VS Team TAL
Opponent: Leon (KristyaLord)
OO
Game 1 - As usual when I see LightLord and a set monster I pussy out and suspect Ryko so straight into Trish despite waste of advantage, out Card Trooper from the hand which could have changed to situation. Keep on hitting for game, also he milled a Vermillion Declarer, so I knew it was KristyaLord.
Game 2 - He start first Recharge and then set monster. Begin to pussy out and suspect Ryko but then see no way to Trish until I drew One for One which was like the only thing I needed for my combo to start. One for One drop Dandy, Debris into Trish, Spore into Formula and constant plusing plus the minus he got from Trish meant that he couldn't keep up and had to summon small mobs to clear tokens but I Accel Synchro with Jain and Token to make Ancient Holy Wyvern with some ungodly attack, summon Core Destroyer and he Declarer but I continued to attack and he scrubbed.
Team Result : XOX
Some people might say that I got let down by my teamates but I disagree, they really did try. Anw, I wanted to drop but they didn't want to but our Round 3 opponents dropped which meant 2-2 with us pussy tiebreaker = don't even need to try play.
I wanted to Top 8 but I knew the chances were extremely slim and Samuel once again did last minute crap to his decklist which is total WTF for me all the time. It wasn't a bad tourney, I did what I came to do, which was win, so no hard feelings between me and my teamates, rather, I would like to remind people that Compulsing your opponent's Breaker when they target the Compulse is not a good idea. LOL.
Bought a playset of Toon Table of Contents + an old print Tomato for $8!
It was an enjoyable day, despite all the losing, I really felt that we were a team, yes on location I did tell those two of for silly misplays that they shouldn't have made, but overall I was er.. Satisfied with their effort? Can't say I was pleased.
I'm sure the next time the 3 of us come back as a team to play, we can beat anyone! Except Dylan cos he scrubs. Me and Samuel will carry him up LOL. And he can't grow hair on the top left corner of his forehead.
Also, my Asia decklist is my original decklist with only 2 changes to main, take out DAD and 1 Maxx "C", play Scapegoat and 1 extra Trago.
Extra changes, Orient to Iron Chain, Librarian to Junk
Side changes 1 D.D Crow to Chaos Hunter, 2 Mind Crush to Twister and Transmigration Prophecy.

YGO Asia Plus Team Report (Team LuckSack)
Hey people, 13ms.Ozawa here. (:
Team LuckSack : Cavin, Luke, Sean Tan
Had a bad morning today. Woke up @0750am today, got dressed and rushed down to Yew Tee MRT only to realise I had forgotten to bring my wallet. Went home to get it and managed to meet my team members 10 mins late. We arrived @ The CC around 10 plus along the way we were deciding for the team name and I thought of team "Gigandick" but the rest disagreed LOL and we changed it to Team lucksack. At the sign in I thought Eustace would print my deck list for me as my printer is spoilt but NOOOO. He could not wake his pussy up 10mins earlier to print it and I had to write it all over again on a blank template. To top it all of almost everyone in both teams managed to recover at least half of their entry fee. Luke got a Darksoul, Sammy got a maxx C, Reborn got a boggart knight and a scrap archfiend. While I got a fucking naturia pineapple. Eustace and sean got shit too. Now for the actual report
Team Score (Overall) X O X
1st game : Team Heng Heng
2nd game: Team No money
3rd game: Forgot name, too long to rmb
Individual rounds (13ms.Ozawa)
Deck used: Six Samurai
Score: OO
Game 1
Opponent: Some malay player ( I suck at remembering malay names)
Deck: Dark world
Game: 1
He had a cast on one arm and yet still wanted to table shuffle my deck and I felt unhappy as he dropped a few cards. Well, I 1st turn united-Shi'en him (No gateway sadly) with a kizan and a backrow of magatama, double edge, warning and a bot. Later in the game, I misplayed by summoning my elder of the six samurai 1st before placing my gate. My gate barely touched the field and he was like "No, no replay" I didn't mind much since I misplayed and was in control for that game. next turn I grandmaster and double edged him for the win
Game: 2
Won via De kill, he dragged down set 4 cards in backrow one of them was a "gate of the dark world" well the game continued and and slowly he opened all his backrow and when he reached his gate he replaced it with the current gate. I called judge, judge dekill him since he opened a card D as well in the previous turns.
2nd Game
Opponent: Some chinese dude (Nice guy (: forgot his name though)
Deck: Machina Gadget
Score:O X O
Game 1: won due to 1st turn shi'en and strong protection. When summoning to prepare for the killing blow. he book of moon my shi'en. I negate he chained Flush. I starlight road and he auto scooped.
Game 2: All I saw was a breaker, flush and a book of moon. Didn't know what to side so did not side.
lost due to loss in advantage over time and got beaten to death by machina fortress
Game 3: Sided in D.Fissure and Irou. Won via level 4 six samurai beatdown.
3rd game
Opponent: Zhi
Deck: Machina Gadget
Score: X X
Game 1: Did a very dumb error. I put elder into my extra deck and so when I wanted to search it I was like OMFG I'm screwed. almost got dekill but judge was a nice guy and so was Zhi so only tio warning and removing that card from play until next game

Game 2: Error from game 1 affected morale for game 2 plus luke and sean scrubbed so basically didn't know what I was doing.
